Talking Animals, Law & Philosophy Term Card

We are pleased to release the Michaelmas Term card of the Talking Animals, Law & Philosophy series. We will start with a presentation by Angela Fernandez (Toronto) on “Animals as Property, Quasi-Property or Quasi-Person” (19 October). On 23 November Paula Casal (Pompeu Fabra) and Peter Singer (Princeton) will join us to launch their new book “The Rights of Apes”. The term will be rounded off with a presentation by Peter Niesen (Hamburg) on “Which ‘All Subjected’-Principle for Animals?” on 1st December. European Animal Rights Law Conference 2022

The Cambridge Centre for Animal Rights Law is delighted to announce the European Animal Rights Law Conference 2022. The Conference will take place from 17-18th September 2022 at St Edmund's College, Cambridge. The event will bring together leading academics from the UK, Germany, Italy, Finland, Belgium, France, and the US. The keynote addresses will be delivered by Dr Richard Ryder (RSPCA) and Professor Justin Marceau (University of Denver Sturm College of Law). Call for applications for Visiting Researchers and Visiting Fellows

Our Centre invites applications for Visiting Researchers and Visiting Fellows to the Centre for an 8-week research visit during Cambridge University Lent Term (17 January – 17 March 2023). Funding is available up to £2,000 for Visiting Researchers and £3,000 for Visiting Fellows to reimburse the costs of accommodation and travel.
