Talking Animals, Law & Philosophy Michaelmas programme

We are delighted to announce the release of the Michaelmas 2019 term card of the Talking Animals, Law & Philosophy series. Three exciting speakers will be coming to Cambridge this term to present and discuss their work on November 1st, November 19th, and December 3rd, respectively. The talks are held from 4-6pm in the Cambridge Faculty of Law and are free and open to all. No registration required.

Call for applications Law Lecturers' Workshop 2020

The Cambridge Centre for Animal Rights Law is inviting up to four Law lecturers from European universities to Cambridge for a 3-5 days workshop on how to offer an Animal Rights Law course, to be held in Cambridge on mutually agreeable dates in early 2020. Travel to Cambridge and accommodation costs in Cambridge will be covered by the Centre.

The Law Lecturer’s Workshop is part of our Centre’s teaching outreach mission which aims at giving interested Law lecturers the tools to teach an Animal Rights Law course at their home university. In the Workshop, we will be sharing all the course materials from the Cambridge Animal Rights Law course, we will be discussing strategies of how to put together an Animal Rights Law syllabus, we will be looking at what readings to include, as well as at how to get students involved beyond class participation.

European Animal Rights Law Conference

The first annual European Animal Rights Law Conference will be held this weekend, 14-15 September 2019, at St Edmund’s College, Cambridge.

We have an exciting line-up of animal rights scholars and practitioners from all over Europe coming to Cambridge to discuss their scholarship and work on animal rights law.
